INTERVIEWS WITH CLIENTS
Yamamoto-san, you have been operating your business in Hong Kong for JY
decades. How do you feel about the development of Hong Kong?
YK There is one very concerning issue in Hong Kong, which is the prolonged
skyrocketing property price that requires restraint and intervention. A lot of
social aspects may be different in Hong Kong if every person has the ability
to purchase a home and build a family of their own.
I hope our government can do something quickly and appropriately to JY
reduce the burden in running business in Hong Kong. Finally I would like to
highlight that today's interview is conducted in Cantonese between us and
Yamamoto-san! I believe the ability to communicate in Cantonese is one of
the factors leading to Yamamoto-san’s success, in which he smoothly
assimilated into the business environment in Hong Kong and established
factories in the Mainland. I have known Yamamoto-san for so long and have
always talked to him in Cantonese. I am very shy to say that I only know
“Good morning” and “Goodbye” in Japanese-I should learn to speak more
Japanese. Thank you again to the three of you for having an interesting
conversation today!
