邱賢君會計師在1998年被委任為香港會計員協會的主席，任期為三年。香港會計員協會隸屬於
香港會計師公會，該會致力提供公開考試平台給大專或其他有志成為會計師的學生，好讓他們
在大學以外得到會計方面的栽培。在位期間，邱賢君會計師成功為該會自資購買物業作為會
址，並在任期內成功爭取全部會董成為榮譽會員。在新的會計師考試計劃下，協會於2019年12
月舉行最後一次的考試及後與香港會計師公會合併。

In 1998, Mr Joseph Y K Yau was appointed as the President of the Hong Kong Accredited
Accounting Technicians Limited (later renamed as the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited
Accounting Technicians Limited) for a three-year term. The Institute as a subsidiary of the
Hong Kong Society of Accountants (later renamed as the Hong Kong Institute of Certified
Public Accountants), aimed at providing public examinations for tertiary education on
vocational accountancy and business training, which allowed students to reach their goal of
being qualified accountants without university graduation. During his term, he successfully
helped the Institute to acquire its own office premises and bargained for the honorary
membership title for all council members as there were only registered students but no
membership for this particular Institute. However, the Institute merged with its parent under
the new examination scheme and its last examinations were held in December 2019.
