繼往開來
FP The layout of the Company is indeed different after the renovation. There are
new colleagues joining my team, but there is not much significant change, except
both the Company and myself have slight development and changes in the work
processes.
IC The management under the leadership of Mr Yau still cares about the welfare of
the employees even though CKY continues to thrive and merge with other
accounting practices. For example, CKY previously upgraded the air-conditioning
system in the office and renovated the restrooms. It may look like trivial matters,
yet it could show that care has been taken by management and it is not a main
focus to maximise profit.
LY This reminds me of a phrase “change is eternal”. In particular for our younger
generation, aside from performing well in their job position, they should place
their eyes on the world’s issues, contemplate how to be part of this constantly
changing and robust environment and strive for improvements.
I probably do not know two-third of the colleagues in CKY. Yau Sir also had a
similar experience after his retirement, it seems history is repeating itself! I hope
every young person can learn and try to master interpersonal skills, to take
initiative to reach out and communicate.
I agree. Meanwhile, do you have any expectations for the development of CKY? AN
It is my wish the business would be passed on in the family tree, from Yau Sir,
Ms Yau, Mr Yau, then succeed to the new generation of Wilson and Annie. It
may not prove to be easy to pass on a profession like accounting under
succession. Also, it seems that the new young generation is not willing to inherit
further. I hope Wilson and Annie may further carry on the tradition of
succession and thus the Company can reach another milestone of one century
of operation!
FP Aside from developing the existing profession, I wish the Company could
introduce a new line of business, for example in finance.
LY I am truly delighted about it. Joseph is very capable and hardworking, and
willing to seize every opportunity and innovate. His ideologies and work style
contrast with mine which is more traditional and conservative. I also suggest
each of you to attempt something new and prove to yourself, given that it is
not too risky. It would be a valuable life experience even if it may not succeed
in the end. I also suggest people to engage in further studies, as you will feel
more confident and recognised after obtaining a certain qualification, and
eventually you will achieve progress in your field of work.
