PREFACE
Words from Mr Au Yeung Yik Fung
I am delighted and honoured to be asked to write this preface by
Mr Joseph Y K Yau, the son of my dear friend the late Mr Richard
C K Yau, as well as my very first articled student in the Canadian
Chartered Accountant’s training program back in the early 1980’s.
I would like to whole-heartedly congratulate the Yau Family, and
their partners, associates and staff members on the 60th year of
their esteemed accounting firm. A Diamond Anniversary is
certainly a special occasion and its symbolic stone befittingly
represents something that is precious and enduring. The late Mr Richard C K Yau not only
started his own accounting firm but also The Hong Kong School of Commerce, a pioneering
institution in bringing commercial education to Hong Kong, which celebrated its own 60th
anniversary three years earlier. Together, the accounting firm and the school have made
significant contribution by creating opportunities for multitudes of young people to join the
accounting profession or the world of commerce in management, IT and secretarial roles.
The success of C K Yau & Partners was attained through the vision of its founder Richard with
his strong academic interest, keen business acumen, and years of dedication and hard work,
and further cultivated through the contributions of his accomplished children, Joseph and Lindy,
who expanded and brought the practice to new heights together with the assistance of capable
and committed partners and associates. Now the firm has the added talents of a third
generation, young professionals who contribute new energy and expertise to the company. I
am certain that Richard would be very proud indeed.
May I applaud everyone at C K Yau & Partners on your achievements and extend my warmest
wishes for continued success and prosperity.
